Also, climbing in the pass is illegal (Natural Trust you know!) so be ready for a reception commitee on descending

I checked the BMC RAD site & there are no restrictions but access is sensitive, obviously needs a common sense low key approach.

So people need to be careful, these two scrambles are quite unique & give one of the best days out in the Peak.

I'm sure you made the right decision not to carry on in those conditions - wet and slippy and a long way down

Brave more like stupid    what us mad people call having fun 

I was just dragged along up there......I was neither brave n'or stupid. It was just a case of going up about half way and then realising getting down would be much more hard than going the rest of the way up, or so I thought but with my crappy low centre of gravity, being very heavy and having a tripod in my hands, I didn't fair too well.....I was an embarassment to Radder I'm sure.

Looking at the scrambles I think i'd only do them in perfect conditions and if there were an experienced ropesman there (who would also let me use the ropes of course)

So this was the 'little walk around Castleton' you invited me to go on then Granty? I'm sort of relieved that I had other plans now! lol
