O0 What a lovely and underated area! I very much enjoyed the Cal-Der-Went Walk. Some years since I've done it now - Horbury Bridge to Ashopton Viaduct (30m) via Cannon Hall and Penistone. A good walk with one of the best unspoilt views of the Peak District looking south from the Cut Gate summit- can be extended with the 'missing link' (via Win Hill to Castleton) to pick up the Limestone Way making a Cal-Der-Lime Way (it's a hell of a pull up from Ladybower to the summit of Win Hill though!) The Limestone Way has since been extended to Rocester, instead of a Matlock finish and I would love to do it again.

Just looked up the book - wow, it's £75 on Amazon! - I'm gonna put my copy in a safe place!

They're attempting to restore the parkland to how it was a couple of hundred years ago...and make access easier with more footpaths etc.
