Saw the pics on facebook earlier - some cracking shots. I was shivering just looking at the photos ....

Most awesome photos!! Brilliant idea and achievement!

awesome that you could do that.   O0 O0 O0

And, oh I love those fox pics.   O0  I bet it was quite a moment when
you first saw him/ her.

Thanks for sharing your fantastic night.  I love the colours outlining the shadowy fells.   :)

Thanks for the kind comments everyone, after visiting Haystacks summit,we returned to our bivy site we had decided on earlier,a lovely place just above Innominate tarn,we were setting up when i saw this head appear, the Vixen froze when she saw me (about 2 metres away) i said 'Mike Look' ! he turned around & saw her, then she moved closer to my gear,we saw then she had the eye injury,Mike then led her down to the tarn & put some food down, she followed him down like a domestic dog,she took the food & left, she visited once more, walking around us closely, then we never saw her again.

The temperature at 6-30 pm was about minus 10 deg.C,at daybreak it was minus 6,for part of the night we had some sea mist come in around the surrounding fells but our area remained clear, lying in the bivi looking up at the stars & moon was so magical,i want to repeat this asap.
