Nice read but very windy  :2funny:
Great when TR's come up and ive been there, have more of an understanding of some of the things being spoken about as well as remembering the views  :)

Finally got round to sorting my pics from a lovely day O0
I seem to have caught Beefy wiping his nose on his sleeve :o ...if only that was the worst of his habits ;D

Ullock Pike In the Cloud

Last view of Skiddaw Dodd and the Newlands Valley

Reaching Skiddaw just before the noxious beef wind assailed us ;)

Amazing conditions on the walk down to Bakestall

"back o' Skidda" fells

Wide view from our rest stop by the side of Cockup Gill

We debated going right round the bottom of the ridge or on a slanting path to the left but in the end we just walked straight up the side of Watches
which was a bit tiring being right at the end of our walk. >:(

Thanks to April. Beefy and Sue for another lovely day out :)
A few more pics and fuller TR here---->http://www.karlswalks.co.uk/2014/ullockpike-04-05-14.html

Walking in that sort of weather isn't my favorite either but it can make you feel so alive, so long as it is safe you should give it a go.

Actually the conditions were pretty benign. ( especially compared with our last two walks with April and Beefy) we were  disappointed with the lack of views more than anything.  April has done Skiddaw about 20 times so we were in no danger of getting lost ;)
As Ridge says walking in windy and or cold conditions can be a great experience and as we found on our descent to Bakestall even a dull day can bring surprises and I would not have missed the show provided by the wind and clouds for anything. O0
