More stolen things
« on: 13:25:15, 29/05/08 »
On tuesday 27th between 5 and 6pm we had two rucksacks stolen from the base of South Crag, Castle Rock. Same mo as previous thefts there. We have reported this to the penrith police. These are recurring thefts from last year too. Press release may be made by the police. Please be very aware and report any thefts to the police as they are buliding up a log of incidents.

We lost a blue Lowe Alpine Ascent Pro rucksack, a Black Marmot rucksack, a black Mountain Equipment Down jacket, old corona Red Chilli rock shoes, 1 DMM 4CU CAM, green t-shirt, some kit and keys. Please report to Penrith police if found 0845 33 00 247.

Grrrrrr - b'stards again! >:( >:( >:(

Seems they're going for the climbers big time - but its only a matter of time before they change to remote car parks - rock through the window stuff....

Sadly, popular and accessible crags like Castle and Shepherd's get targeted from time to time. Climbers have lots of expensive kit and are often not in a position to come in pursuit.

There never used to be much of a market for used climbing gear as folk generally like to know the history of the kit. But nowadays......(starts grumpy old man rant..)

Just look at all the badly described stuff on eBay... It's not climbers selling that...
