This week-end's walk saw me return to my local Mourne mountain range. With strong winds and hazy skies I opted for a lower level hill with restricted views even on perfect days. It has been a long time since I climbed Slievenaglogh and this is one of my favorite views in the range. If you're looking for a short walk to a vantage point for not much effort, Slievenaglogh is hard to beat. There are actually two Slievenaglogh's in the range. I did the one sandwiched between Muck and Binnian. Starting from gamekeepers lodge I picked up a good track from the car park before coming to a stile. Once over the stile I continued on the good track before coming to the Mourne wall. Turning right I followed the Mourne wall to the summit arriving there 1 hour 10 minutes after I left the car park. The summit offers tremendous views of the eastern and central Mournes. Completing a circular walk I followed a grassy foot trail from the summit before picking up the good track back to the car park. Total distance was around 6km taking two hours.
