John has left Bellingham having stopped for just under 2.5 hours. Wonder what Jayson will do...

He won't want to let him get too far ahead as, from his last two legs he is obviously trying to win it. I thought that John may run into trouble with lack of sleep but with a reasonable stop at Bellingham (for him, not me) then I guess he may be able to go all the way now.

Sorry for being such a late joiner to the thread.
I just saw the video of John arriving at the Bellingham checkpoint (I know he has left now) - he seems stunned but also focused. His pack is so compact - how does he manage all the compulsory kit?!

Yes - let's see what Jayson's tactics are. Is it race on?!
Goodness - Jayson's tracker is showing him as being in Gateshead - is that a blip or have I missed something?!

I guess it is a blip, he went there and back very quickly.

I took a screen shot to prove (to myself at any rate) that I wasn't going bonkers. But relieved he hasn't been helicoptered away.

Just over a mile behind, take it slowly - no need to catch him quickly. Guess I'll pop out for a walk otherwise I'll sit here until they finish!

If you click on his 'info, route, splits' his trace is still showing that he went there and back. So you may be going bonkers but this doesn't prove it ;)

Wont it, it feels like we have a race on.

Ha ha :D

Game on then! Could be a nail biter as we watch the dots.

Any predictions for finish times?

Interestingly they are taking the road to Holwick. The Tees must be in flood but at least they will get to see High Force.

Probably around mid-night or earlier if they make a race of it.

Thanks for all the updates since 8.30 folks. Not been able to check progress. Next year I am taking a few days off work.

By my reckoning John is pulling away.

E2A Yes, he was 3km behind coming up out of Bellingham and he's now 3.5km adrift. Though he is now on the tops so may speed up.

Hopefully they won’t finish too early tonight. After bragging that I’m now retired and can dot watch all week, I’ve just realised that I agreed to go to the cinema tonight with friends!  :-\
