Marmot Precip 'standard length' vs. Marmot Precip 'tall length?'

I've had a Marmot Precip for a few years but it leaks, the inner waterproofing keeps coming off but I'm happy to buy a new one. I note that Marmot sells a 'Precip tall' but I can't seem to get a proper grasp of what they mean by the word 'tall?' I know that it's for tall people but does it mean that its longer in length than the standard model and if so how much longer is it? I'm not tall but I would certainly prefer to buy a longer 'Medium' if I could. Does 'medium-tall' sizing mean the same as 'standard' sizing? Are they both the same but one is just longer than the other? I've looked online but I just haven't found an adequate explanation.

I've just been contacted by Marmot UK and I was told that all sizing is the same, sleeve length and so on but the coat is 2" longer than the standard and he then finished his spiel with, "I think." I then asked if he actually 'knew' or did he 'think' it was the same, he admitted he 'thought' it was 2" longer. How to lose confidence in an 'expert' in two words!

Then of course he told me that they have none in stock!

I'm looking for a replacement for my present Champion long coat but even if correct, 2" for me is just not long enough.

Contact them online and ask what the difference in measurement/length is between the standard and the tall but bear in mind that if the body length is longer it's quite likely that the arm length will increase as well.

Sizing notes
TALL: Some pants, shirts, jackets and parkas are available in tall sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 3 inches longer and a rise that is 1 inch longer, a shirt or jacket body that is 2 inches longer, a parka body that is 2.5 inches longer and sleeves that are 2.5 inches longer than regular sizes.

If you come across one on Amazon's website at the right price order one to try and if not right it's usually reasonably easy to return it for a full refund.
