first walk of 2019
« on: 21:42:15, 09/01/19 »

my first trip report,
this evening ill be working the "graveyard shift" so i needed to get out for a walk
I needed to lose some weight, at the beginning of January last year I weighed 24 stone
Mrs bones says I've lost too much and that I've become obsessed with exercise ;D I've definitely lost quite a bit

the walk started from Ashton, i was walking down the path of the dismantled railway line towards Park Bridge.

at first theres houses on each side of the path, its shared with walkers, cyclists, horses, and dog walkers

the houses dissappear, and theres views over fields to the surrounding hills

the view as i got nearer to park bridge, with Hartshead Pike in the distance

Park Bridge

the canal in Daisy Nook country park

lovely swans

Crime lake

two old relics from the past

at this point i  had a sit down, it was below freezing today, there were patches of ice here and there, i was chilled to the bone, and the cold gets into my joints and is rather painful at times

i guess no trip report would be the same without the obligatory selfie

the walk was 5.6 miles
i hope you like my first trip report thanks for looking

Nice one, Lazybones! So where did the skelly come from? (Oh dear, I've just seen the connection with your username too.)

BTW I sympathise with the need to lose weight. Some of my wife's clients give her Christmas hampers with contents that are full of fats and sugar that I shouldn't eat. The scales say I've put on 4 pounds, which all appears to be around my stomach that now protrudes over my walking trousers, these now being a tighter  fit than they were. Five weeks between walks over Christmas, I must get out for more!

Great first TR. From the photos it looks like there were few other people around.  Perhaps the skeleton scared them off 💀

That skeleton and your earlier comments reminded me that inside a fat person like me is a thin person bursting to get out. That is certainly the case for the one I ate for breakfast  :D
