It is very hard to understand how such a thing could happen again (Dunbalane + Hungerford) I thought getting hold of fire arms was supposed to be more difficult now?

Today I've been very sorry to hear that there has been a second incident apparently involving three fatal shootings in the sleepy village of Holbrook, about 1 mile up the road from where I live in Derbyshire.

A young family by all accounts, although there is no clear info as yet.

What a horrible day for the UK, and its even worse when it's on your doorstep.

This is awful. If anything could, what makes me even angrier when these things happen is that the [censored] shoot themselves. To my mind, that's the easy coward's way out, as they don't have to face the consequences for what they've done and all the lives they've shattered.

Getting hold of firearms has never been 'easy'.  But it's the mad [censored] at the end, not the weapon that does the killing, and that you can never 'licence'.  That's said, lets wait for the details to out before speculating too much.

This is a very sad bit of news, and my thoughts are with the friends and family of the victims  :(

Things like this are beyond comprehension. How can someone get into such a dark place that they would do this? Have we as a society failed this man?

So sad for these people and their families.
It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.

This all happened very close to where Dibble lives.  She's okay, I spoke to her on the phone and texted her when the bloke topped himself.  She's resting up at her Mum's with orders to not drive until she feels calm again, I'm afraid she may have seen some of the victims :(
