Blencathra
« on: 18:45:47, 14/10/08 »
We were over at the Lakes at the weekend, stayed at The Mill Inn in Mungrisdale on Friday and Saturday nights, Friday was a complete wash out, heavy rain and strong winds, but Saturday was brilliant, blue skies and lots of sunshine. We went up Blencathra, over Bowscale Fell and Foule Crag and then back down Scales Fell, a really great day out. I've attached a couple of photo's below, as normal there's more on my web site if any one wants to have a look.

Those images are totally breath taking. Why would anyone want to go walking anywhere else in the world when we have landscapes like that in England.

Yes JH, but just back from 10 days walking in Spain I'd say guaranteed warmth and high likelyhood of sunshine.  It does the bones good.

As for the scenery in Britain - can't beat it as garyr shows.
I think this next one will be the top ...
