With a decent forecast yesterday, I drove down to Rostrevor to complete a circular walk in the southern Mournes. Starting from Kilbroney forest park, I walked through the forest on a good track in the direction of Slievemeel; this was actually the first time I climbed the mountain. After admiring the view back to Carlingford Lough I picked up the forest track again around the summit of Crenville. After leaving the forest, I had my lunch before heading in the direction of Slieveban. This is my favourite mountain on the round because it offers great views across Carlingford Lough. After I few photos I headed across to Slievemeen before completing the round on Slievemartin. I returned to Kilbroney forest park on a good forest track. The total distance was just over 12km, taking about 5 hours.
