Yesterday's walk saw me take in Rocky mountain, Chimney Rock and Slievenagarragh from a roadside car park near Newcastle. I followed a good track from the car park to the Mourne wall. I was planning to climb Donard but I noticed a cloud inversion on Slieve Binnian. I changed my plans and headed towards Rocky mountain for a closer inspection. The cloud inversion extended from Binnian to Slieve Foye in county Louth. The cloud inversion was mainly coastal but some peaks featured above the clouds in the western Mournes. After admiring the spectacle I returned to the stile on the Mourne wall before climbing Chimney rock. Thereafter I descended Slievenagarragh before returning to the car. Total distance was 10 miles.
