Low level walks Lakes/ Dales/ Peak District
« on: 20:49:48, 25/03/07 »
ok people help needed. Love walking but her indoors struggles on climbs so i tend to stay low level. Here lies the question. Need some good low level walks between 4 / 8  miles in Lakes/ Dales/ Peak, preferably ones you have travelled and know well. Please dont suggest books etc coz we dont need a forum if we go that route. Hope to see you all out there sometime

As you leave Ambelside on the way to Langdale, there is nice river walk of about 4-5 miles. Also there is a good selection of pubs if you want to stop of and have a bit of lunch.

Hope it helps

Thanks summitzero just what i,m looking for. My missus complains if we have to go up steps to get in a pub so i have to lie about the gradient on most walks saying just another 100 yds and we are at the top. Why are most walking sites and mags all about bagging and how many wainwrights climbed in the shortest time? Surely the view from scafell pike is not disimilar from every other felltop view in the lakes and who wants to see the bl--dy isle of man anyway?
More walks like this one please folks.

Hi

The walk runs alongside the river. also just thought, theres is also a book by Paul Hannon and its only about £5, i think its called easy walks for the whole family in and around the lakes, or something like that, i have been told its a good one?

but i will still put a few on, with some markers and info, through the week.
