I walked or rather ambled 4 mile in search of bluebells but it was too late in the year as I half expected.

Still there were some lovely views and the bird song seemed louder than usual.??

It was a late decision to go, but I am so glad I did....it is all good therapy isn`t it...  O0

Thanks! The bluebells in our garden are only now just dying off and I thought just maybe there might be a show in the woods, but alas they are all but gone.  O0

Lovely photos - there's something a bit special about walking beside water.

Nice photos.  O0

The photos remind me of a spot in the Cotswolds. I've no idea where Austy Woods is though - except that it's apparently somewhere in the 'Rest of England'.  ;)

Austey Wood looks nice.  I too had no idea where it is until you posted the map and saw Wootan Wawan near it.  I used to drive through the village on a regular basis years ago while long distance courting from Cumbria, lovely village and countryside. O0

Memories . ? :)
There is a wonderful church in Wootton Wawen. Something like a 1000 years old..I took this photo a few years back.

Yes I can remember the church above the wide sweeping bend through the village. Even after all those years.  :)

There is a lovely general provisions shop opposite the church that still trades and was very busy today.
The sun really lights up the church on the south side, from round mid day onwards  :)

Thanks Mel it does put things into perspective.
That stretch of water is the Stratord Upon Avon canal. A lovely bridge can be crossed to go on up into Austy Wood. O0

This is a shot of the Blubells in the wood back in 2008...(I feel old sometimes when looking back through pics & realise when they were taken... ;) )

It reminds me of a time I was walking with a friend. He was ahead of me and clambered up and over an unusually high locked gate, blocking the prow, muttering as he went...I was about to do the same, until I noticed a big gap the to one side of it, so ambled up and slipped through it. He started muttering all over again. It had been a long day though... 8)

 :)

I remember deliberately going over a stile for a laugh. The fence had long gone but it seemed rude not to use the stile.

Title: A wander around Wootton Wawen
Post by: GnP on 17:53:40, 28/04/23

This is not far from Austy Wood .

Apologies for such a resurrection or is it insurrection . Taken on my walk today, near to , and around Wootton Wawen , Warwickshire . One of those walks when everything falls into place and probably all done at 2mph or less.

The fly bottom right , was an interloper . :)
