Snowdon today

A pal asked me to walk Snowdon with him this morning.  So we set off at 06:15 up the RYD DDU track, in the dark.  This is my first time on this route, and second on Snowdon.  We got to the ridge, only to be met with heavy winds and very cold temps.  We did manage to get to about 1/3km from the top, but had to turn around due to heavy weather.

As we were leaving, the sun had managed to get around to Snowdow, and was beginning to clear things, but the wind was still present.

Did anyone els manage to get to the top today?

last year at this time my brother and i went to do snowdon via crib goch most that went up got to the ridge it was covered in snow and 50 mph wind all came back down. safety first,there is always another day.

After getting up so early and getting so close to the top I bet you were gutted to have to turn back. In saying that, greenman is spot on when he says "safety first,there is always another day"

Just heard two brothers fond dead on snowdon yesterday at Clogwyn Coch not far from the summit.

Just heard that myself off the same pal that I went with yesterday.  Very sad indeed.
