GR10 - Atlantic to Med 2014
« on: 22:50:14, 01/01/13 »
I am taking a Gap Year from September 2013 - 2014 and am planning a trip to walk the GR10 route along the Pyrenees from Hendaye to Banyules-sur-Mer. The length of trek expected is 50-60 days during June and July of 2014 with about 50/50 gites and camping. Currently I have no-one to go with and so I was wondering if anyone would be interested in joining me. I will be 19 by the departure and am looking for someone/group a similar age and like-mindedness.
So anyone up for it?

I keep thinking about it for 2013 but not sure at 68 if I still got what it takes? The 1st walk I want to do is Robert Louise Stevenson's walk across the Cevenne Re: his book Travels with a Donkey. About 120 miles I think. I hope you manage to get together with others because that's what I am trying to organise as well.

getting closer but @ 53 I'm just out of age range. however when you get to Banyules-sur-Mer walk a bit further up the coast to Colliour  and celebrate in "le Petit Cafe" one of the best Champagne Bars I have ever been in.

We're too old as well (60 and 63) but the Stevenson walk is on the ever growing list of walks to be done. If you're thinking of doing it in 2013 we would be interested but our windows of availability is small, basically anytime after Sept 15! Now it would be 4 old farts together!!

I'd be happy to walk with companions. Unfortunately I need to hike the Stevenson trail in the early part (around June-ish) of the year. As regards getting there and back and sharing the travel cost, I would be happy to use my 7 seater Citroen Picassa for interested individuals. The same goes for others who might be interested in the GR10.
