VE Day Suffolk walk with cuckoo and swifts
« on: 16:25:01, 09/05/20 »

No pics of swifts and cuckoo, just seen and heard. Apparently the other day while we were walking somewhere out of the village they were both seen and heard very near to our house  :(  But at least we have put that right now  :)  Yesterday we decided to venture a bit further north than our usual walks that way (7.25miles), though Mr RR has walked those paths while I was still working. We aimed to get to Boulge church for 11am so we could stop for the 2 minute silence. We made it with 5 minutes to spare and were surprised to find 2 other walkers and 2 cyclists there as Boulge is a tiny hamlet and the church is hidden across a field in some woods.

An urn in the grounds of what was Boulge Hall

At last an oilseed rape field with a nice wide path! (Though it hasn’t grown very much)

An old postbox by a farm on today’s walk when we were lucky to see a buzzard and a sparrowhawk

Gorgeous photos. !

The yellow rape seed is not everyone`s cup of tea, but I love the splashes of colour it adds to our countryside, especially from a distance. O0

They weren’t actually near each other! I have tried to research the postbox but can’t find anything, other than the cottage near the farm used to be a pub many years ago so maybe that’s why it was there.

Lovely sun-shiney pics RR.  I was only wondering the other day if anyone's heard a cuckoo yet  :)
