Hi everyone
I would like your invaluable knowledge please on suggestions for gentle walks, I suffer with Fibromyalgia and sometimes I struggle with steep or long walks. I managed a 4 mile walk on saturday with my fella and it's the furthest i've managed in a while ::)
I live in Wensley (near Matlock) and don't mind driving a while to the start of a good route. I'd love to hear your thoughts
Cheers in advance O0

Monsal Trail or Dovedale would be good options.

Hi and thanks for that. I've managed a bit of the Monsal Trail, and a bit of the Tissington Trail. I also did a bit of Dovedale from the car park to the stepping stones and back, I was having a bad day that day and tried my best! my illness gets me down some days but I try as best as I can and I do more on a good day ;D

How about Fernilee Reservoir? You can do a circuit around it - about 3 miles.

One thats virtualy on your doorstep, and one youve probably done is a walk around Stanton Moor. Only looking at 3 to 4 miles but a nice pleasant stroll

For this walk if you park on the road between points 4 and 5, it’s free and you can stop off at the Longshaw visitor centre if you want a break and tea, cake or whatever.

For this walk you can park at the road bridge in Bradford Dale and save the climb to Youlgrave

Flat trail along the eastern side of the famous Dambuster reservoirs, and there used to be a bus that would take you up . the road on the west side to the far end from the big carpark.

Have you tried searching on Walkingworld.com. You can set your own criteria and the walk details include the route on OS map and gpx files.

Hi Deolman, I haven't heard of that website but thank you, I will look when I get home from work. O0

Your very welcome. It is a subscription service but the cost per year is very small and it gives you unlimited access to the walks. Alternatively you can purchase walks individually. Another useful tool is that members can place their own comments on a walk hi-lighting any difficulties they may have encountered.

If it is web sites with walks on that you are interested in then can I add www.haroldstreet.org.uk (http://www.haroldstreet.org.uk) and www.gpsies.com (http://www.gpsies.com). The latter includes elevation profiles.
Also on GoogleEarth, if you tick the Wikiloc layer in the primary database overlay you can see walks in the area you are interested in.
