Contrasting views from Gummer's How
« on: 17:28:35, 30/09/19 »
Not a trip report, but a couple of contrasting photos from Gummers How, taken this morning whilst walking the dog.

The first is a view to the SW, showing a cloud sea over Windermere, the second a view northwards to the higher fells, the southern end of the Helvellyn/Fairfield range to the left, High Street Range to the right, Kirkstone Pass somewhere in the middle. If I am wrong, please correct me!

I guess congrats due on your successful move, at last? :)

Nice pics, I think that's Fairfield, or possibly Helvellyn in the centre, with Coniston Old Man, Swirl How and Wetherlam on the left under the clouds

Or does Mrs. R1905 believe you to be house hunting.

(By the way I truly believe this form of hunting should be legally banned)
Too little, too late, too bad......

Thanks for the comments all.
House still not sold but am south in the Lakes for a couple of weeks: reunited with my family. Will be heading back north mid Oct to oversee the sale of our house which hopefully will now take place late Oct.

Fingers crossed for you and the family Richard.  Do you know where you'll be moving to yet, if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks - Yes we have a house lined up in the Grange area, but there has been a problem with our buyer's chain. Been housesitting in Underbarrow and are now in Dunnerdale for the weekend. Flookburgh next week - in a caravan! Of no fixed abode, in other words.
Hoping that that will change late October.

Coniston Old Man is actually much further to the west. I got a good view of the hills in question on Wednesday - beautiful conditions - even spotted hills in North Wales on our way down.

Fantastic part of the world and fingers crossed it goes through for you guys, Borrowdale is an absolutely magical place - especially in the spring.
