Hubba Hubba NX2 Tent copies down in price.
« on: 20:37:32, 10/03/20 »
Look like the Chinese are getting desperate for business, the Hubba Hubba copy is now down to £33.39 (+ postage)

BUT - it is now available with a 'solid' inner tent, with only mesh vents at the ends, to better suit the UK climate.

I have two of these (not the latest version with 'solid' internal tent) and they really are good quality tents - at £60 they'd even make good 'play-tents' for the kids.

It looks like mesh on the doors too ?
And 2.3kg but no measurements in the specifications
It is very cheap though

Interesting, Alan. Postage is a bit steep, though!

I notice that a Chinese firm has also ripped off the Terra Nova Southern Cross - but have used 15D nylon. Minimum order qty 300, though. ;D

Mine weighs in at (complete) at 1.88kgs but I would expect a 'solid' tent to be heavier than a mesh.

It is, but I guess its gets you to look and the 'package' price is still amazing.

That looks very appealing now that MSR have abandoned the Hubba Hubba HP that had the same design principle for European conditions with a lower cut flysheet too. Unfortunately the advertized weight is quite high at 2.3kg.

That's a big discrepancy.

Not really - as I explained in post #1 I have the 1/2 & 1/2 version (still better than the MSR at 2/3 mesh.

If you already have a HubbaHubba then you could just buy the Chinese clone 4-seasons solid inner (which is even less 'mesh')

Indeed. Not the sort of tent that I am after right now, though.

..but would be a good choice if I wanted to do the West Highland Way with my son.

Not that much, I have two inners for my Phreeranger. One the standard with mesh sides and solid top. The other all solid and a slightly heavier ground sheet this one is 50g heavier.

I looked at the Hubba Hubba copy this morning, high postage cost though. I note that other brands are being advertised as postage free.

As Alan says, the overall price is still amazingly low.
