Certainly is!  I'm off to the Lakes for the day with elder daughter - we may go mid-level though - she'll whinge if its too windy on the tops, so I'm thinking of Scawgill Bridge and wander up the forest tracks onto Barf, Lords Seat area - but I'm going to play it by ear in the morning.  Enjoy Glenridding.

If my back allows, I will try an ascent of Bennachie. That would be my first outing in the hills since late June.

Thanks Paul, hope you both have a good day. Nice area that, but I’d stay clear of Wythop Moss unless you’re in waders  ;D

I did a 10 Wainwright walk from Glenridding before, enjoyed it very much, the hills including Helvelyn came thick and fast  O0

I had a 16 mile circular walk from Elterwater today, only 3 Wainwrights but long distances between them. Was a lovely feeling walking in a tshirt in Feb when you're expecting to be walking in full winter gear  :D
LDWs done - 32 in total including 16 National Trails and 3 C2C

Ha ha  ;D  very happy now Mark  O0

I’m hoping to do a route which includes Glenridding Dodd, Sheffield Pike, Hart Side, Stybarrow Dodd, Watson’s Dodd, Great Dodd, Raise and finally White Side.
If all goes well, it should be an epic day.
Enjoy your walks guys,  ;)

As we all know, the weather can soon change in the hills.

I also set off in a T shirt today.  I  was heading towards Fur tor from the Dartmoor Inn.  I could see the mist rising in the center of the moor, so changed my route and headed over to HighWillhays via kitty tor.  Thinking if I timed it right, I could make Great Links for  sun set and a cuppa before heading down.

Didn't quite work out like that.  By the time I reached Great Links I couldn't see the tor from 20 yards away. ;D  let alone the sun set.  I carried on down to Widgery Cross at Brat tor and had my cuppa there, in the cold and gloom. Now wearing two fleeces. Then finaly headed back down to my car.  Realy good walk, but not the one I was expecting.

I was almost blown off the Carneddau this afternoon.
What a change from yesterday's beautiful calm conditions.
Eventually made to Foel Grach, from Gerlan, but blimey was it windy.
Thankfully the mild conditions allowed me to reach the central Carneddau ridge, and  the rain that was forecast did not arrive until i was back at the car.

Had a home made pastie and pre cooked rice, inside the Refuge Shelter.

Apart from the wind, ive known colder days in June, certainly not February conditions  at the moment.

Quite busy as well, nearly ten people enjoying this mild weather.

Just got home, completed the route. The wind from the south made the ridge hard work and by the time I got to ‘Raise’ I had to dig deep to find the energy to reach White Side as well.
Excellent day, unbelievable for February  8)

I sent a wave your direction from Fairfield  :D

I was in a tshirt as I was sheltered by the big wall going up Low and High Pike but the fleece, jacket and hat soon went on. Bit breezy up there.

In the distance I could see some brave/daft people crossing Striding Edge.

Enjoyed the horseshoe but the views were a bit mirky.

I wondered who the hell was waving at me Brian  ;D

Yeah out of the wind it was lovely and warm, but jacket, hat AND gloves were on high up. Just got down before the rain came in. O0

Ah..... I think that could have been Dave, Dom and Luke  :D

Yeah not great for photography, my best views were to the south and west, straight into the sun and haze  >:(

Glad you had and a good day Brian, cracking walk that is  O0
