Sound choice, Matt - hope that it lives up to your expectations.

Mine has taken all that 4 Orkney winters can throw at it - I must have worn it over a thousand times.

I’ve not seen the Zeno there was that many to choose from I’ve probably missed that one. Did you two find you had to go up a size? I’m usually a medium but not a chance was I getting a fleece under it so i had to get a Large

Not quite Matt, I've just slimmed down from XXXXL to XXL I've only bought a few clothes in my new size Adidas t-shirts are loose on me, Nike ones less so, the Mountain Equipment Zeno is a snug fit but I can just about fit a fleece underneath it, my North Face fleece is actually an XL, it's a snug fit and a little short but the XXL was far too baggy. That's my whole experience with clothes in my new size. The whole size system is dumb they should just do it by inches.

Well done on getting down to a XXL that’s some achievement that pal. My only issue is the sleeves are abit long on the Large but I can deal with that I suppose

Well I am a happy bunny this evening.

I have been hunting for a new pair of boots ahead of the winter, for a few months.  I am not one to buy boots online, so it has been hunting around stores.  Having very wide size 13 feet, had meant a fruitless search.  Untill today that was.  Wandering around Go Outdoors, I stumbled across a pair of Scarpa Kailash Pro GTX,in size 49. Sitting on a returns rack.  After walking around the store in them for 20 mins, I confirmed that, what ever size 49 is, they fit my feet perfectly.

Oh and the best bit. £90.00 to you sir.

Just bought a new tent.
We needed a new base tent as our family tent finally died last year but, as the kids now camp separately, we didn't need anything too huge.
We only use it about once a year so didn't want to spend a fortune. I was looking at the Vango Venture on line and was about to post on the forum for opinions when I saw it for £62 so thought it was worth taking a punt on. Put it up in the garden today and it looks OK. I will know more when it has had an outing in a couple of weeks time.

I've been looking for an alternative to shaving oil for when I'm hiking. Bought a tube of shaving cream from Boots yesterday, £1.75, plus three toothbrushes from Tesco for £1.

If you drink the extra wine on the first night, you will still save weight on the other days  :D
