Title: Silent Valley Horseshoe
Post by: henryb on 20:13:11, 16/03/16
The most memorable walk I've ever done in the Mournes was a 10-hour high-level circuit of the Silent Valley reservoir. I've done the walk twice. The mountains climbed were Slievenaglogh, Slieve Binnian, wee Binnian and Moolieve.

Thanks April; the back castles of Binnian is my favourite walk in the Mournes and Slievenaglogh is one of only 4 mountains in the range which boasts a double lake panorama :)

Thanks Rhino, I remember walking into O'Shea's bar in Donard park one day and when the bar man said I looked like a thirsty man, I replied 'I've just climbed 7 peaks in 5 hours'; he replied ' you certainly look like it.' ;D ;D

How wonderful!  We've been over to N Ireland once, and even started up one of the hills with some friends.  Unfortunately we didn't really get the chance to do a proper walk.  Looking at your pictures, I wish we had now.   I never knew how lovely it all is.  Thank you for posting.  :) O0 O0
