TR - Stanley Ghyll Force
« on: 14:17:41, 21/02/18 »
Today was a short walk after completing Middle Fell. The route took me to Stanley Ghyll Force which was my first visit to the waterfall and it was spectacular! Anyone visiting Eskdale must go see!

Distance: 2.5km
Ascent: 120m
Time: 1 Hour 10 Minutes

The slopes of Sca Fell seen from the start of the walk.

Spectacular Stanley Ghyll Force.

Another photo in portrait.

This photo was on the way back. We stopped to take a look over Wast Water to Wasdale Head. A classic lakeland view!

Thanks for looking :)

I love the long exposure photos of water falls..... superb!!!

I shall have to hunt for that one, it certainly looks like a very nice place to visit.

Great pics & video.  I am in Wasdale in 2 weeks time and was thinking of visiting Stanley Ghyll.  Now, I am definately going.

Even though Scale Force is higher, Stanley looks much more impressive.

Excellent photos and video!
Went up there some years ago on a fern society meeting, stayed at Eskdale Campsite.

There's a notice at the foot of the waterfall, on the left. Anyone know what it says? Just curious.

It says 'Danger, no path beyond this point'

Thank you! I expected it would be something like that, which is obviously ignored as there is a dsefinite path going up beyond it.

Great photo's seferix, I haven't been to Stanley Ghyll Force yet, but it looks amazing, reminds me of a scene from Borneo  O0
