Tall, slim male looking for insulated trousers
« on: 21:11:20, 03/10/18 »
Hi,

I have 34" waist and 36" leg.

I have been trying to find insulated trousers for winter hiking and camping. I already possess thermal leggings.

Has anyone found any outdoor clothing brand that caters for people with legs longer than 34"?

Thanks!

Hagloffs and Fjallraven seem to make very long leg trousers. Expensive but well worth it as they last for ages.

Hi!

Sorry, I should have said who I had already tried. I was just a bit depressed by how difficult this is.

Hagloffs - longer sizes not on web, so emailed - not possible
Fjallraven - longer sizes not on web, so emailed - no reply yet
Rab - only do up to 34" leg
North Face - only do up to 34" leg - tried and too short
Rohan - only do up to 33" leg
Landsend - do offer 36" insulated trouser but only in US, cannot ship to UK
Craghoppers - only do up to 33" leg
Montane - longer sizes not on web, called and they confirmed they only do regular for insulated trousers - tried and too short
Beyond Clothing - only do up to 34" leg
PH Designs - only do up to 33" leg online but are lauded as a custom specialist so emailed today

I know someone who has this difficulty, she often ends up sowing on an extension to each leg as a fashion statement. I tend to be the opposite, 29" leg, always having to take trousers up!

Fjallraven apparently do some winter trousers with warm mesh lining but apart from the limited insulation they are very heavy.

Extending wouldn't be infeasible I guess.

there are companies which purchase goods in USA on your behalf and send them on to UK, or other countries; they are known as re - shipping agents
The best known is (logically enough) www.reship.com though there are others; search t'Net
You identify what you want, inform the agent, who then purchases & forwards it. there is a fee of course, but I don't think it's too bad

another approach would be to have something made to measure. check your area for people who do tailoring, dress alterations and so on

www.pennineoutdoor.co.uk supply fabric and other materiel for making your own gear. They have been established for years, and could probably pass you on to someone who can do this

www.highandmighty.co.uk supply men's clothing in tall and large sizes; mostly fashion/everyday clothes, but if you don't ask, you don't get
