He got lost. apparently. Media reports are, as usual, scant on information, such as the distance he was walking? Was he a local who might have known the area or was he a visitor unfamiliar with it, and what if anything was he using for navigation?

Those were the same questions I was asking myself fernman. I mean, Haworth and oxenhope moor were my playground when I was growing up and they aren't that big to get lost upon without being able to go somewhere where there is civilisation.
