Salkantay trail machu pichu
« on: 13:06:19, 20/12/18 »
For the dates we want, the Inca trail tickets are all gone(the government now restrict numbers).
So, we're thinking to do the alternative salkantay trail which is one day longer(5days) but actually the 5th day is just waking up in a hotel and getting a busy straight to machu pichu for a butchers.

Anyone done it?
Another option is quarry Inca trail, but I swaying towards the salkantay.

Opinions?

Out of interest, how much approx does this cost per person?

It can vary. Around $500/600. It's seems there's no relation between price and luxury either. Some include stays in glass domes, Andean huts etc whereas others which are more expensive just camp in tents.
One I saw included a stop at some natural hot springs to ease the aches n pains. Whether this is just not mentioned on others I don't know.
