Ladybower reservoir and Bamford Edge
« on: 20:58:16, 04/11/19 »
The last trip of the year saw me return to the Peak district. On this occasion I decided to visit the Dark Peak area. My main walk was an A to B walk from Bamford to Hathersage. With better visibility in the afternoon I opted for a valley walk in the morning before ascending after lunch. I got the bus from my hotel in Hathersage to Bamford. After crossing the river I picked up a forest track towards Ladybower reservoir. After admiring the views of the reservoir I decided to take in Bamford edge to look down on the reservoir; the view of the reservoir from Bamford edge became one of my favourites and I would strongly recommend a visit if you haven't been before. I traversed Bamford edge before picking up a minor road back to Hathersage. The walk took me 4.75 hours.
