Here I am!
« on: 08:58:31, 05/05/18 »
I started hiking & backpacking when I was in the Scouts, in the late 1960s & early 1970s, so obviously I'm getting on a bit now!

I did some fairly hard mountain walking & munro bagging when I was younger, all year round, but now I'm happy doing lower level paths & trails, and I no longer go camping in the depths of winter
For years I used the traditional sort of gear; wool & big boots, but just around the time I retired I discovered trail shoes & lightweight gear, and I hope to continue with trailwalking as long as possible

Although I have been a member of The Backpackers Club for over 20 years, it's nice to hear different views, and see new faces, as it were

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Where are you based and where do you get your walking fix?

I have done a lot of walking in the Peak District, the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, and the Highlands

Now I live in  NE Lancashire, so go round Peak District, South Pennines, and Yorkshire Dales

I fancy doing some trails in the Midlands, or along canals; but I was ill for most of 2017 and need to regain my fitness

A few years ago we got a puppy, a German Wire Haired Pointer, and he's a lovely dog, if a bit boisterous. The breeder had already named him ZULU

Unfortunately I'm a bit of a technophobe and I don't know how to post pictures, so you'll just have to Search Google for GWHP; he's all brown
In the meantime I'll have another go at persuading or beating my IT Consultant my son) into doing it for me

I know, dreadful isn't it, sometimes I think people do it deliberately.
Have a good day, looking forward to seeing the photos.
