Borrowdale to Grasmere
« on: 19:08:16, 11/09/18 »
Last Sunday's walk was an A to B walk connecting two Lakeland villages, Rosthwaite and Grasmere. I got the 78 service from Keswick to Rosthwaite. I basically followed Wainwright's coast to coast path for the entire route. A good track eventually peters out into a foot trail after Lining crag, the highlight of the day. I had considered High Raise but was keen to get to Grasmere for 1645 connection back to Keswick. I had been to High Raise twice before so decided against doing the fell this time. I dropped down far Easedale valley for my descent to Grasmere. Total distance was 13km and taking over 3.5 hours. To be honest, it isn't the most exciting walk I've done and won't be repeating this walk any time soon. Why? TOO marshy :(

You should have done this walk during the dry spell we had a month or two ago  ;D

Nice pics Henry  O0

The last time we walked from Greenup Edge to Lining Crag we put that bit on the Never Again List  ;)

Nice pics from a nice route Henry, (well apart from the bit in the middle.) I can fully understand how people walking the coast to coast get lost on Greenup Edge it's a very confusing place even more so in the mist ;)

Great photos Henry.

If you are no longer walking the marshy bits of the Lakes it is going to cut down your route options.

A good walk even in dull conditions  O0. So it's marshy already, I noticed those becks were flowing surprisingly well from the photos considering the dried up reservoirs we've seen of late.
