Last Saturday's walk was an A to B walk from Glenridding to Stanah. I decided to make my final decision on the day of the walk re route depending on visibility levels. I was lucky enough to have 4 hours of very good visibility and decided to climb Whiteside and Raise. Having climbed Helvellyn and the Fairfield previously, Whiteside and Raise became the next obvious objectives. Starting from Glenridding I picked up a good track beside Glenridding beck. I got impressive views of Catstycam on the ascent. When I summitted Whiteside, I got a view of two halves. The southern and western fells were covered in cloud while the NW and northern fells were cloud free. I made the straightforward traverse to Raise. When the cloud threatened to engulf me I decided to descend to Sticks pass before making the final descent to Stanah. The total distance was 12km and took about 4 hours. I got the 555 service back to Keswick.
