Getting back into walking
« on: 16:23:36, 09/07/19 »
Hello all,

Trying to get back into walking after a long absence. Last major hikes were D of E some 30+ years ago.

Now I'm retired I am looking to get some serious hikes under my belt. Will probably be asking the typical newbie questions but ask not to be castigated for it!

Cheers,
Nick

Good luck, I’m sure you’ll soon be out and about enjoying the wonderful countryside we have.

All started when the 15 yo grandson said, whilst camped at Betys-y-Coed, can we go up Snowdon!
Next day (1st March 2019 - St David's Day), early bus to Pen-y-Pass, up Pyg down Miners (just over 5 hrs) and bus back.
Since then done a few trails in Peaks and a lovely short walk up Moel-y-Gest near Porthmaddog.
Now planning a days hike from Bonaber to either Harlech or Barmouth via the Rhinogs!
