Saturday - Cromford/Matlock Bath/Matlock area.  The route included Cromford Canal, Riber Castle, Giddy Edge/High Tor and Matlock (hated the latter, as it was soooo busy with the Xmas Market being on)

Beautiful misty start, followed by gorgeous sunshine  8) ....

Riber Castle (used to be a zoo years ago)...

I remember the zoo there, many years ago....

A nice collection of photos  O0

Marvellous Boxing Day run over the main Berwyn tops today, from Pistyll Rhaeadr. Frozen puddles and gale force winds (and excess Christmas pud consumption) made for slow progress across the tops. Soaking wet slopes and gale force winds made for rapid progress down Moel Sych's south ridge (a little too rapid if the truth be known - I wasn't entirely in control of my legs). Managed a very close encounter with a peregrine on the pathless slopes below Craig Berwyn - seems to be becoming a bit of a habit of mine. Which is nice. Anyhoo, here's a view from the top of Cadair Berwyn today.

Seeing as Mrs Glyno was working yesterday, I took the opportunity to spend a few hours walking over The Clwydian Range.

3 more Wainwrights (Dow Crag, Old Man and Brim Fell) for me today.  Was meant to be 7 but took an awkward step and hurt my knee again so had to cut the walk short (9 miles instead of 13 lol).

[censored] up tomorrow walk as well now :( :(

Sounds like agood start to the day Dom. Sorry to hear that you hurt yourself: its my biggest worry with c2c looming, injuring myself beforehand. Hope your knee soon lets you get back out there O0

Cheers Deb  Yeh it was a good start (great views up the top from Dow Crag and Old Man) but a tricky gully (slippy and loose rock = bloody hand) then the knee thing but a bit a of a downer on it.

Going to rest it for a week or 2 (save for Golf on Thursday ::) ).

Have done the same thing before on Skiddaw (only much worse) a few years back but nobody could diagnose what I did.

Was out of action (mountain walking) for months then.

It's not knowing exactly what I did that does my head in.

Anyway, just realised that it was 4 Wainwrights today, not 3. ;D

Next visit up there will bring up the Century. :)
