I bought a pair of 'cheap' boots (about £40) from Decathlon last year and I think they are very good, solid build and very comfortable, the lacing and lugs are good as well. I walked two weeks in the Pyrenees with them, they are only waterproof up to a point, but they do dry quickly. If you even consider the idea, check the sizing, I'm a 7, I had to buy 8, with my Sorbothane inserts in I even considered buying a 9, it was only because I decided to wear thin socks and took a chance on how much the boots would stretch that I didn't.
I don't know if you are like me but I always have inserts in my boots, if you use them take them with you and your normal socks to try on.
As regards the Berghaus leather Superlites, I've had three pairs and would be quite happy to buy a pair again. They are waterproof (my last pair let me down after two years use, the previous two just wore out) but like so many boot soles these days (my Decathlon ones are better) I learned to be careful when crossing wet smooth rocks, especially with moss on them.
