Abbots Harbour cafe in East Marton is well worth a visit.  Stopped there on my PW trip in May. Gets great reviews on Trip Advisor too  O0

I always try and stop at little shops and cafes (and the occasional pub), especially on multi-day walks. Not just because I might be hungry/thirsty but also simply to give them some custom because some of these are in the middle of nowhere and a godsend if you're planning a walk.

"Aladdin's Cave" on the Pennine Way being a prime example.

Tea rooms are a mandatory bit of walking kit  :D

Too right! The best ones for me are often the unexpected ones like this place on the Ullswater Way

http://www.becksidefarm.co.uk/cafe/

First time we walked past we hadn't planned to stop anywhere but we were glad we did, friendly staff, great coffee and snacks. The fact it was a surprise made it all the better!

Yesterday we went here after our walk on Mynydd Llangatwg
http://pavlovacoffeeshop.co.uk/

It's tucked out of the way down an alley off the High St in Crickhowell. Coffee and cakes and ice cream were all very good :) It's also dog friendly. The bakers on the High St wouldn't make us coffee as it was 4.30 and they stop serving then  :(
Enjoy every sandwich

If that's the one I think it is, it felt like a life saver for me on one walk.

I did a 13 mile circular walk from Patterdale on a really hot day over a few hills and ran out of water and was starting to suffer as I started to walk back towards Patterdale along the lakeside path when this cafe just appeared out of nowhere and I was able to buy something to drink plus ice cream. Never been so happy to see a shop/cafe  O0

Nice write up Brian, It must be the same one, after Howtown that's the only place for refreshments until Patterdale or Glenridding.

Daughter and I camped near Place Fell's summit last year for a nights wild camping, you're right it is a bit of slog form Patterdale especially with a rucksack full of overnight camping stuff. It was a great spot to wake up in the morning though.

Enjoy every sandwich

The Cafe on the Green in Widecombe-in the-moor on Dartmoor does real leaf tea including Dartmoor Caravan for those who like the smokey taste. They do a limited food menu but it is good quality. If you take a dog with you one of the waitresses give them dog treats  ;D
