Englands Coast Path.

It's on my list, is it on yours?https://blog.hiiker.app/2020/04/18/the-worlds-longest-coastal-path-will-open-in-england-next-year/?fbclid=IwAR3zfzljw-baUp6-xFeundLHSVqZsEksvlm1LMZXqiYsxlsm-vtjbHF6u5M
It will be even better when the Scotland coastal path, a linking up of already established coastal routes opens up, hopefully in 2030.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottish_Coastal_Way

Nice :)

However, for it to become popular with long distance (thru-)hikers you also need cheap shelters and/or places where you can pitch your tent for free (or very cheap). Most people cannot afford to stay in B&Bs for such a long period of time.

Already done it. Well that's not entirely true because I expect the England Coast path will open up some new paths I wasn't able to walk, but I have already walked all the coast of England so perhaps I'll see what new parts are opened up and re-do some of those bits!

Whilst walking the PW some years ago2008 I think, I met a fellow walker who claimed he held the record for walkimng the coast of mainland UK. True or not i don't know but the way he was getting on when I met him, if it were true it must have some considerable years earlier.

Sounds great Slogger. I have been liaising with the Shetland Visit Scotland manager, the out door access officer for the last year talking about a "Shetland Way route" that would run the length of Shetland and compliment the existing "core path" routes that are already sign posted. All good stuff!
Unfortunately there is the possibility of a major wind farm being sited the length of Shetland which would make it a waste of time. Fingers crossed it won't happen.
