Hello from Finland
« on: 14:49:41, 21/02/20 »
Hi, I love the Lake District and visit LD every springtime since 2010. I'm looking forward to go on with my Wainwrights in April, 79 ticked. I'm hoping to tick some more before my poor knees will retire... Exactly, walking keeps me going on! Furthermore, I have been to Ben Nevis, Snowdon, Carrauntoohill and Slieve Donard.

Welcome to the forum. It's a bit wet here in the Lake District right now but I suppose that's why we have lakes. Not as many as Finland though!

Thanks Pitboot  :)  well, most of Finland would be able to raise rice right now  :(  I hope you didn't get any bad floods like Desmond in the Lakes this winter!

Welcome from the southern edge of the Lake District. Not into Wainwrights myself but have been up most of the fells, and continue to do so. As others have said, it has been very wet here - drove through some pretty deep floodwater yesterday on my way to Grisedale Forest.

Enjoy your visit, and good luck with the Wainwright bagging.

And welcome from Liverpool

Thanks!
Interestingly, the North West Megarider Gold is valid also in Liverpool so I used the ticket to travel there too  :)

Welcome to the forum.

I haven't done any serious walking in the Lake District (although plenty elsewhere), but I have been on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. I would recommend it if you haven't yet done so.

I enjoyed a brief visit to Helsinki on a school trip many years ago ... is it nice at this time of year?
