« on: 19:35:07, 06/12/20 »
Conditions along part of the Pennine Way are beginning to look rather wintry, could be a snowy rather than muddy Spine Race in January  O0

It had't occurred to me that it would be on this winter, thanks for the heads up. Can't wait.

An extra 1.8 miles this year due to the diversión at Torside Reservoir.
Too little, too late, too bad......

Understand that the start procedure will be different this year, think it's to spread the field out more so not so many arrive at checkpoints at the same time, social distancing etc.

Not that I have listened to it all yet but concerned that "if the tiers stay the same it is unlikely that it will go ahead" although he has thoughts of "something else" but not happy to share at the moment. I need to know as I have to have a lot of sleep in the previous week or so that I can stay up and dot watch when the runners are more likely to have issues!

From what I understand from the PM's announcement a few weeks back, the Tiers are expected to stay the same over Christmas at the minimum and likely to be pushed out to March when the vaccination programme should have made a significant dent in things.

16th December seems like it'd be absolutely an economic decision more than anything else, but even if they do it'd be highly unlikely to see them drop below Tier 2.

Feel very sorry for the competitors who have been training for this, at significant cost, and are having to wait until the last minute to know if they'll be racing or not.

I wouldn't be surprised if some places go in to higher tiers soon. It feels like every local news report is softening us up for the blow in London.

Decision taken to push the Spine into early February, with this year cancelled if it can't be held then  :(
