Hello there
« on: 16:11:25, 16/05/09 »
I've posted for a while on the forum so thought I'd introduce myself.

I live in the north east within easy distance of The North York Moors and coast, not too far from the peaks and dales of the Pennines, an ok journey to the Lakes - in short blessed to be near such lovely walking countryside.

I've walked all my life in the above places and also Scotland, the Peak District, Bedfordshire, Cornwall etc. I got my love of the countryside from my father and his family from the Scarborough  and Newtondale areas. Later I used to go hiking with a church youth club. I now belong to a rambling club which I enjoy also.

I think one of the most enjoyable walks I've done was along the Hambleton drove road and Sutton Bank area. The worst was a walk begun as a saunter in the Lakes which turned into a fight to get back to where we were staying in bad weather - we hadn't assessed the difficulty of the walk and were not prepared properly.

ps Forgot to mention - I'm a la.....dee :)
