Nice photos in your blog!  I was interested in the word 'rake' for an old lead mine.  This is the same as the name used in the Mendip area of Somerset, where there was also lead mining by the Romans.  It's unusual to have the same word being used in quite distant regions.  Maybe it was originally a latin term that has survived?
