First night in a hammock!
« on: 13:46:24, 04/10/18 »
Spent my first night in a hammock last night, local woods. I have to say it was the most comfortable night Ive spent out doors since I started camping earlier this year. All DD Hamocks gear, tarp 3x3, hammock, underquilt and sleeping bag. It was a mild night and no wind. Slept in a t-shirt and underpants. I know its a lot bulkier than a tent, pad and bag; the total weight including suspension rigging is 4.7KG.
Im a side sleeper and find sleep mats uncomfortable after a hour or so; yet to have a good nights sleep in a tent. The down side with a hammock is that trees are needed, unless cams and nuts are used for a rock face. The weight and bulk is another down side. Its a 10 from Len
