Klymit Imsulated Static V
« on: 18:54:18, 20/10/18 »
Hi,
I usually only do a few overnighters a year and up until now have made do with a closed cell foam mat but I’m planning on doing a lot more next year so I’m looking to upgrade.
It will only be used early Spring through until September, mainly in the Lake District.
I’ve looked at these online at these but wondered if anyone had used one and if so what are your thoughts.
I’m also open to suggestions for an alternative.
Many thanks
Bob

Never had one. Supposedly a decent mid-range mat. quite heavy but quite comfy at a reasonable price.

I’m still undecided at the moment but I’m very tempted mainly because of the price and I’ve seen some good reviews. I’m quite a big lad so a little extra weight won’t bother me plus I’m actually buying a lighter tent so I’ll save weight there.
Thanks.

Sorry, can't help with this one but getting the lightest one which does the same job or better is the one I would go for. I treated myself to a Thermarest NeoAir, one of the best decisions I've ever made, so very comfortable, so light in weight and rolls up to the size of a Coca-Cola can.

Thanks for the reply, I’ve looked at those but maybe a bit too pricey for me.

Seems reasonable for the money. You might not need the insulated version if only used for summer. But if the weight doesn't bother you then seems like a perfectly good buy.

If you've not already done so, check out the market: https://www.ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk/equipment-c3/sleeping-mats-c58/all-sleeping-mats-c146

I’m still liking it but I’ve loads of time before next year so I can have a good look around at alternatives.
Of course my sleeping bag is also due for an upgrade, that’s another head scratcher!
