Title: Is this possible? first proper Hike (Edale)
Post by: Clarkey01 on 10:46:02, 07/06/18
Planning to do this very soon and wanted something that will last 6-7 hours

Looking at google maps this looks a possible route.

Any critique?

Looks fine if your fitness is up to it.

Link just seems to bring up gobbledegook, looking strange.
Is this a genuine link , a typing error or some sort of failed hacking code?

It works for me, it brings up a route on an aerial view map.
Try highlighting it from the colon to the 8, copy it and paste it into your address bar.

Got it. Thanks Fernman.
Looks a decent route.  personally I would have an early start on this one, because I walk so slow.

Sorry the post wouldn't let me post the full link so I had to add spaces between the protocol and the actual address

Thanks! looking an all dayer walk, with two other semi fit walkers so should be good for 6-7 hours.

Was debating in my head if to do Kinder or Mam-tor then I thought why not do both.

Already dreaming about the cider after the walk.

Yeah, route looks straight forward enough. It's half an Edale skyline walk. Not sure if it's worth the big detour to Kinder Downfall in this weather... there'll be no downfall to see. I'd be tempted to skip it and instead, use the extra time to carry on from Brown Knoll up to Mount Famine, and then back to kinder via Kinder Low End

Edit: Although I've just noticed the date of the last post so you may have already done it by now  :)
