Oh I do like to be beside the seaside
« on: 20:05:34, 04/04/19 »
I had the weekend over Blackpool way, Staying at a friends house in Thornton Cleveleys. The first day I walked along the coast up to Fleetwood, then back along the tram line. My memory card malfunctioned so I lost some photo's. I found a photography shop and bought two new memory cards, one for each camera.

Testing new memory cards in the shop. The man was very helpful, making sure they both worked.

Love these Bombardier trams.

Ten miles walked on the first day.

Second day I drove to St Annes and started my walk from there. Walked along the seafront to Lytham.

Fairhaven Lake.

Lytham Railway Station

Sadly no time to visit the hall, needed to get back to the car and drive home.

Nine miles walked today. Lucky with the weather.

I've never seen a tram in real life, interesting looking things. The picture after it with the bridge on the way to Lytham was very pretty.

My first serious courting was a lass from Lytham.  It didn't work out but I ended up marrying her room mate 5 years later.

Looks a great place, had a supplier I had to visit in Southport regularly over many years. Makes wish I had ventured over the other side of the Ribble estuary. that railway station is worth a visit just to see it.

Nice photos, Ilona - looks like you had perfect weather for it.  O0

Lytham is a lovely town and I've always admired that beautiful church, very striking architecture. You can get some cracking fish and chips in Lytham too, at Seniors on Clifton Street.  :)

Thanks everyone. I used to live in Blackpool many years ago, but never ventured much further than the sand dunes at South Shore. I didn't have transport then. I must say Lytham is lovely, clean and tidy, a great atmosphere around the local shops in the main street, and outdoor spaces to linger, eat and drink, and parks. I might go again if I am on that side of the country.
