Hello and welcome from Cardiff (Brecon West)
You can take with you all the gear money can buy, but what's the point if you don't take a camera?

Hi Tracey from the Peak District
Many thanks for the ''warm'' welcome, although we have bright sunshine and 12 degrees down here in the South today  :D

Hi Nothernfall from Derby .. thanks for the welcome.
I really need some ''welcomes'' from down south as everyone one so far seems to live in the north  ::)

You have had one from Somerset, and here's one from me in Devon  :)  We're quite far south, but possibly not quite far enough East for you  ;)  People travel quite a way to meet up with folks so if you keep an eye on what's happening you'll soon be able to join in. Stick around for a month and you'll be able to post on the meets board too.  O0

Hi Lemeoutofhere from Devon.. thanks for the welcome.
I was only joking about the northern replies -- I have previously traveled a a lot to meet up with other walkers, for example North Wales and Scotland -- even as far as North Devon to meet a fellow walker that was joining our team for the Tour de Trigs. I'll need to either get my posts up to 25 or hang in here for 30 days to get onto the meets board  :D

Hi Lastone,

I'm from Oxford too.  Also a member of the LDWA.  Birth of my son this year restricts my walking options at the moment though!

Hi Guy
Good to hear from someone from Oxford. I used to go out with the Thames Valley LDWA group which Martin Burnell runs. (and his better half) There was a guy from Bicester called Norman who was famous for clocking up astronomic annual mileages, whom I did a few team events with. Anyway, please feel free to contact me after your son's birth if you ever fancy company.
