Hello and welcome from me in Co Durham  :)

I did my first Lakeland walk on Saturday (Loughrigg Fell) and can't wait to return to do some more Lakeland walking - I wish I lived as close as you do lol  O0

I have to say that having spent a couple of hours mooching around it, I like this forum. The people on it seem to be quite normal, unlike the total lunatics that feature elsehwhere.

Welcome Eric, and yes indeed, I've never come across a more NORMAL crowd of LOVELY people  O0 O0 O0

Hi Eric welcome to the sensible home of walking on the internet, you'll find no silliness here, just earnest discussion of the issues, routes and the odd photograph (occasionally there is some light hearted banter too I believe...)

Hi Eric you live where I love to be  O0 This time of year I try to get up to the Lakes every Friday from Leeds. Can never get enough of it...  O0 Im no sprinter up the fells either  ;D

Fridays is my delivery day. I drive around the lakes delivering books and other stuff, and get very envious of the fell walkers trekking about. I see you are off to Langdale this Friday. I may be passing through sometime, as New Dungeon is on my list. Enjoy your walk, the weather is set fair.
The oxygen is free! The rest is up to you.

Eric, Welcome to the forum from Wiltshire

A word of warning though .. .. don't believe all you read hear .. .. all this talk of normal people and earnest discussion .. .. I'm shocked that people would mislead a newbie in such a way

Welcome to a mad house full of slightly lunatic people who love to leave their warm dry homes and go out on the hills to get buffetted by the wind and soaked by the rain while exerting themselves until their bodies are sore .. .. need I go on??

A belated hello from North Wales, Eric!
I don't know what my path is yet. I'm just walking on it.
