Not exactly new kit but I've just got a ten year old Mountain Equipment jacket back from Lancashire Sports Repairs. The rubbery cuff tags that had the stiff part of the velcro were delaminating and not holding very well. They have fitted some matching fabric cuff tags and you would think that was how the jacket originally came, very nice craftsmanship.

Interesting - thanks for bringing Lancashire Sports Repair to my attention.

I have been thinking of getting the main zip replaced on my M.E. Lhotse jacket, which is showing signs of wear after 5 years of hard use. Maybe worth a pop at £45 for zip replacement to get another year or two out of the jacket, but I have just re-proofed it, and they specifically state that that jackets sent to them should not be re-proofed. I'll wait and see.

Yesterday, I was in my second favourite shop, Poundland.  Got a head torch for a quid.
Batteries cost more, but then I bought from the more exclusive, Lidl.
Much better that I thought.  Probably not too weather proof, but a bit of silicone sealant would sort that.

My good lady bought me one of these. Great jacket, it's even got merino under the pits so no smells, not too warm for walking, great wind proofing, good pockets. I wore the hood up during a prolonged bout of rain, that was comfortable too as it's quite water resistant, although I can't say how long that will last. The pockets are quite well positioned for wear with a pack. I can't fault the quality, and I'm quite picky.
It's breathable too, and I sweat buckets on a walk.

A Chilly's bottle. Much better than standard vacuum flasks for staying hot.

WEDZE Simple Warm Men's Top - Black, long sleeved, from Decathlon, for the princely sum of £3.99.

Dirt cheap and does the job just fine - what more can I say. Tacked it on to the end of an order for a punchbag and gloves!

A Snowsled pulk, second hand. No idea when I'll be able to collect it, not that I'm going anywhere to use it anytime soon. Really it's for my retirement trip in three years time.

After last weekends pot of water spillage I ordered a remote canister stove. Nowt wrong with the MSR pocket rocket but accidents are more likely to happen with a conventional stove. We love MSR gear so it had to be a stove from MSR, a windpro2

I don't know when we will be able to use it.  :(

Indeed. One thing this lockdown has made me think about is the missed opportunities for getting out and doing a wild camp this last winter - putting off buying a new tent, or just taking my chances with the old one. Must do better when the lockdown is eased - grasp the moment!

That's my conclusion on canister top stoves as well. Fine on a solid flat surface but decidedly dodgy around tents.
