Walk in the Flamborough Head locality
« on: 12:54:40, 08/11/06 »
I'm helping to organise a walk for charity in and around the Flamborough Head locality, which will take place in May 2007.  I'm aiming for around 6 miles max. and it should be suitable for people of all ages and fitness. The walk must be circular.

I've had a look at an OS map and my draft route at the moment starts/finishes from the South Landing car park, along South Cliff to Flamborough Head, past the lighthouse and then through the village along Lighthouse Road and then turning left down towards Cross Bow Hill/Old Fall Plantation and then rejoining South Cliff back to South Landing.  I've got this walk down as being just over 5 miles.

Looking at the OS map, this route would be using existing marked footpaths, so should be pretty easy to follow (the walkers won't necessarily be led by a guide).

I'm going over to do a reccie later this week, but just wondered if anyone could offer any further information/guidelines/alternatives routes beforehand.

Thanks in advance.
