Very interesting blog. The link worked fine now for me. I thought I knew the Surrey Hills AONB quite well but you found some places on this walk I'd never heard of.  Who'd have thought there would be a bunkhouse so close to Friday Street and Leith Hill! That's a beautiful lily pond too. 


I'm with you on the snack choice, I'd always take a cream tea rather than a pastie. ;)

I really enjoyed that - it's quite different to the areas I normally walk in so it was really interesting (especially like the "hybrid" church in Wotton, what a lovely building despite the mixed architectural history). I've got friends in London and Brighton who regularly run walking groups in south of London and on The Downs and I always enjoy the pictures they share - I must try and get down there for one of their trips soon.
